日本のRPGでもっとも最悪な名前は・・・

1. Butz (Final Fantasy V)

You just can't dance around the issue; Final Fantasy V stars a character named "Butz." You can't even retreat to the original Japanese pronunciation, (battsu) which is basically what you'd hear if you asked a native Japanese speaker to say the word "butts." And if you need more proof, slavish fan translations of the game -- far before Square gave a hoot about localizing FFV -- retain "Butz" as the protagonist's name. And this is from a community of people who retranslate games after they've already been translated. This unfortunate name choice can only be the result of a major lapse in judgment for director Hironobu Sakaguchi -- and, after Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, it's clear that he doesn't seem to be a stranger to lapses in judgment. How else could he not realize at the time that he was giving his hero a name homophonous with the source of all Western humor? We can only assume that, since FFV's 1992 release, Sakaguchi has subjected all of his character names to a litmus test of potty-mouthed 10-year-olds.

すごい・・・ショックです。。。
